The WA Centre for Rural Health were delighted to host the Hon Meredith Hammat MLA, Minister for Health and Mental Health, and Sandra Carr MLC at our Geraldton site.

During the visit, Minister Hammat engaged with our dedicated education and research team, including Senior Lecturers Kathryn Fitzgerald and Aasta Abbott, Research Fellow Deborah Balmer and Co-Facilitator and Cultural Lead Kelsie Crowe from the Clinical Yarning project. We were also proud to showcase the valuable contributions of our Aboriginal researchers Lenny Papertalk, James Brockman and Allee Bartlett.

The visit was a valuable opportunity to share our progress in strengthening the rural health workforce through immersive student placements and impactful place-based research.
