The WA Centre for Rural Health - Rural Health West Staff and Student Awards for Semester Two 2025 were recently presented by RHW Deputy CEO Kelli Porter and WACRH Director Sandra Thompson to Staff and Students recognising their extraordinary service, research and achievement within WACRH and the communities we serve.

Staff Awards

Student Research Award

Keighlee Burkhardt (UWA McCusker Intern): Demonstrated exceptional leadership, initiative and professionalism while contributing to an international rural health workforce project through research, ethics development, collaboration and initiative, solutions-focused work beyond expectations.

"My internship was a life changing experience and has significantly influenced my decision to further explore a career in health. This opportunity allowed me to apply my research skills to a meaningful project that has the potential to change the lives of residents living in regional, rural and remote areas of WA," says Ms Burkhardt.
